I’m a bubbly natured, easy-going, tap dancing, dog loving, memory clutching, photographic artist in Adelaide. But most of all I love to laugh and I love making other people laugh.
* My favourite smell is rain on dirt. There is even a word for that – Petrichor (hope that comes in handy at your next trivia night!). I probably like it so much because I grew up in Stirling North, which is right by Port Augusta. It can get quite hot and dry there, so rain was often a welcome occasion.
* I moved to the Big Smoke (ok not really big, more like the just the right sized city of Adelaide), to get my Bachelor of Visual Arts Degree at UniSA where I majored in photography. I love living in Adelaide but I’m so grateful for my roots in my country town. It is filled with some of the most wonderful people in my life and I am so thankful that I have a job that takes me back there every month to see them.
* I love dogs! Especially my dog Ted. That guy is Awesome and he has such a personality that cracks me up every day.
* I love dancing, whether that be at class for Swing Dancing or Tap, goofy dancing with Ted in my kitchen, OR when my jam comes on while I’m photographing a wedding reception – you’ll find me and my camera carving up on the d-floor!
*And I love a Great Big Hug!
So why do I do what I do?
“The days are long, but the years are short”
The things mentioned above and the things I love, I won’t forget. But I can’t say the same about specific details or events of my life. When it comes to those stories – I can be super forgetful, and that's scary! I don't want to forget my own life! Having photos of the small details can remind me of the funniest story or even an emotion I'd forgotten.
If I feel that way, perhaps others do as well.
While my forgetfulness may be the main source of why I’m here, I also love making new friends, getting to know new people and learning about their lives. There is no better feeling than when I get to incorporate these unique personalities to create works of art.
I want to show you your life - even better than the way you remembered it! I want to give you the emotions you had forgotten in the rush of the moment! But most of all, I want to give you memories to hold on to for the rest of your life.
My photographic style varies between modern portraiture and photojournalism, observing and capturing those spontaneous moments along with leading gazes, smiles and the all-important laugh out loud! Encouraging experiences and helping my clients make wonderful new memories with the people they love. I’d love for my images to tell your story. These stories flash by all too quickly, and I consider it an honour and a privilege to be able to capture these fleeting glimpses and turn them into cherished memories.
